Bridge of the Americas

When the Panama Canal was made by the US, the American Continent became divided in two. This bridge rejoins the two sides and thus its Spanish name, Puente de las Américas, or Bridge of the Americas.

To commemorate Panama's first Centennial, the bridge was illuminated as you see in the photo.
