Mola Kuna Art from San Blas, Panama

The Kuna Mola, an intricately designed and sewn artwork is made by the Kuna women, who live at the San Blas Islands in Panama. It is worn daily by the women in their colorful blouses. The Mola is a reverse appliqué technique in which several layers of cotton are hand sewn together. All the molas pictured here are genuine hand made molas from Panama.
